Developed a 3D printer through funding by a number of organizations including DARPA and Northrup Grumman.
- A rugged printer with the goal of replacing broken parts in less than 30 minutes
- Printers were produced by students for use by students at Choffin Technical Center
- First printer deployments under combat conditions on naval vessels (USS Truman and USS Kearsarge) and by USMC in Kuwait
AST2 produced and deployed over 200 printers, and as the printers’ program transitioned from development to marketing, divested the program to Vista AST.
